Doctor Shannon Hennig
She recently completed a PhD in Italy investigating expressive speech synthesis in the context of Augmentative and Alternative Communication.
Dr. Hennig trained with two of the authors of the SCERTS framework and takes a family-centred, social-pragmatic approach to supporting communication development.
Clinically, Dr Hennig is committed to respecting and being of service to people with autism across the age span. She contributes to various research projects both here in New Zealand and overseas.
She founded Inclusive Communication in 2014 to provide hands-on consultation and therapy services to local families, schools, and adults in the Greater Wellington region.
She also works one day a week in the Wellington Branch of Autism New Zealand as an outreach coordinator and regional educator.
